More than 20 years of speaking up to allow mothers to report abuse and keep custody of their children

We are part of a movement to bring change.  We are mothers whose children are forced to visit unsupervised or live with their identified perpetrators through failures in the family and juvenile courts. Our children have disclosed abuse, and have not been protected or believed. The agencies designed to protect children have not helped, and in many cases have done harm. We have done everything we, as individuals, could do to protect them, yet have been unable to keep them safe.

It was September of 2016: I was in Washington DC and meeting Heather, a prominent member of MOLC for the very first time. That weekend, I met the most amazing group of women. I felt heard, supported, and empowered for the very first time in over 10 years. That personal growth led me to publish a memoir in 2018. My next memoir will speak to how empowering it has been to be a child safety advocate. Thank you ~ from the bottom of my heart. ~ Ruth Collins, author of “Writings in the Sand”

"Joining with the Mother’s of Lost Children has given me the needed confidence to speak out about the civil rights violations occurring in the family courts.”

MOLC has empowered me greatly. Before stumbling upon the group online, I felt so isolated and alone and questioned the evaluations, rulings, and what I thought were missteps I made in the legal battle to fight to protect and keep my children. MOLC showed me there are tons of great stay-at-home and professional mothers in the same situation as me and no matter how much money or good legal representation they/we have, the Court was bound and determined to side with the non-protective abusive parent. Going to Washington, DC twice and peacefully protesting, educating legislators was/is an invaluable experience to my healing and fight for Justice for our children. I met great friends, amazing mothers, and warriors like the founder of the group and those leaders who followed. Having a prayer line as an option when things are just unbearable — no matter what one’s faith is — has helped strengthen me to persue a non-traditional relationship with my children and maneuver in this very broken court system, which is destroying the lives of many children, mothers, and grandparents. Thank you MOLC for all the work you do and helping this mother be the strongest mother she can.
